About Gold Branch Music
Gold Branch Music, Inc was founded by American bass trombonist Aaron Misenheimer with the intent of publishing contemporary works, primarily for trombone. In the first two years the company rapidly expanded to include approximately 150 works by composers from 12 countries. In 2006 Gold Branch began to move back toward the initial goal of promoting new music for trombone. To assist in this goal founder Misenheimer has given performance tours and recorded several of the trombone works in the catalog. Gold Branch music has also been performed by prominent artists such as Dave Taylor, Blair Bollinger, Stockholm Chamber Brass, Denver Brass, and Charles Abramovic. Although Misenheimer's role in the company has slightly diminished his goal of producing new works for trombone, especially bass trombone, is actively pursued through sales at the International Trombone Festival and other trombone events. Through internet sales and distribution the company also continues to make non-trombone works available to the public.
Led by founder Aaron Misenheimer Gold Branch Music recently developed a 10 year plan dedicated to promoting new music and classical musicians. This plan encompasses not only publication and marketing of new works but also performances and recordings which are designed to promote instrumental music to musicians and non-musicians alike.
How can you assist in this plan? Purchase and perform works by living composers. Second, make sure that your program is reported to ASCAP or another performing rights organization. This ensures that composers receive royalties for performances of their music which enables them to sustain their livelihood. Third, invite your neighbors, friends, etc to your performance so that they develop an appreciation of classical music. By doing these three things you can join us to promote new music by new composers.
